Amanda began their pursuit of a piercing career in 2013, attending both their first Association of Professional Piercers (APP) Conference and the Fakir Musafar Foundation’s Basic Piercing Intensive that same year. They proceeded to attend the APP Conference the next two years, as an attendee and volunteer, with no industry affiliation. They spent the following two years building their resume with retail and customer service positions, all while searching for the right apprenticeship. When Gamma Piercing opened in 2017, Amanda was lucky enough to be hired as their first employee. Soon after, they began their apprenticeship under Jef Saunders and Laura Jane Leonard, which included completion of the Fakir Musafar Foundation’s Advanced Piercing Intensive. Amanda completed their apprenticeship in 2018, and pierced full-time at Gamma until the shop’s temporary closure in 2020. After a short break from the piercing industry, they returned to Gamma in 2022 to pierce part-time. Amanda is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers.
